City of Berlin
Berlin Capital City
Berlin is today Germany’s dynamic, cosmopolitan, and creative capital where many lifestyle choices have become possible. East meets West, tradition and innovation coexist in the metropolis at the heart of a changing Europe. In no other European city there is a higher concentration of scientific institutions than Berlin.
More than 170 museums in Berlin provide a rich cultural landscape, including the Pergamon Altar, the bust of Nefertiti, and a speck of the Wall at Checkpoint Charlie.
The biggest department store of the European continent, the ‘KaDeWe’ is located at the famous shopping mile Kurfürstendamm. Further popular shopping areas are e.g. Potsdamer Platz, the Alexanderplatz, the Nikolaiviertel, Friedrichstrasse, and Spandau.
